The role
We're looking for a Chief of Staff, the single hire that multiplies the CEO's time the most.
This is for a high-performing operator who wants a serious challenge. Someone who can hold the internal standard when the CEO isn't in the room, and represent Build externally with the same credibility he does.
You should be energised by the space between commercial leadership, product judgement and company building: closing deals with institutional customers, translating real workflows into product, running the operating cadence, and building the muscle that takes Build from founder-led to function-led without losing speed.
You'll own real customer and company outcomes, and help define what great operating leadership looks like at an AI-native company in the built world.
What you'll do
Hold the internal standard across GTM, product and ops
Lead customer conversations, run diligence and close commercial deals with institutional real estate teams
Partner with product and engineering to translate real workflows into product
Represent Build externally to customers, investors, partners and the broader real estate and AI ecosystem
Build and run the company's operating cadence: planning, reviews, hiring loops, board updates, internal comms
Identify the highest-leverage problem each week and either own it or stand up an owner
Drive special projects end to end: new market expansion, partnerships, GTM playbooks, senior hires
Build the operating system of the company alongside the CEO
Example projects
Owning the close of a flagship deal with a top-tier REPE customer: running diligence, shaping the commercial structure, getting the contract signed
Standing up the GTM motion: outbound playbook, qualification framework, pipeline review
Sitting in customer workflow sessions, identifying the highest-impact product gaps and driving them through to shipped features
Running the planning cycle: translating strategy into quarterly priorities, weekly commitments and clear ownership
Leading a senior hire end to end: sourcing, screening, closing and setting the bar for future hires in that function
Who we're looking for
We want someone extraordinary at turning ambiguity into sharp, high-quality execution across the company. This role skews early career: roughly 2-4 years in, high-upside, hungry and already operating above their level.
The strongest candidates are creative, analytical built-world people who think visually, commercially and operationally. The profile we anchor on: REPE or real estate and infrastructure people with prior architecture, design, planning or other creative experience. Someone who understands the physical world, has taste, and can translate messy context into clean output, whether that is a deck, a workflow, a memo, a customer artefact or an internal operating cadence.

Existing relationships across REPE, institutional development, infrastructure or energy
Experience standing up GTM motions, partnership programmes or operating cadences from scratch
